Yu Hong is professor of communication at the College of Media and International Culture, Zhejiang University, China. With a PhD in communication from the Institute of Communication Research, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she studies ICT4D, internet, and media policy, digital capitalism, the politics of mediation, and shifting global communication order, with a focus on China. Her recent projects include a Chinese-language monograph on states and the cybersphere.
