Samantha Bradshaw is an Assistant Professor at American University's School of International Service. Prior to joining American University, Dr. Bradshaw was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University at the Center for Democracy, Internet and the Rule of Law (CDDRL), the Stanford Internet Observatory, and the Digital Civil Society Lab. Samantha completed her D.Phil. in Information, Communication, and the Social Sciences at Oxford University in 2020. Dr. Bradshaw has over seven years of experience working in the disinformation research space. Her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including New Media & Society, Political Communication, the International Journal of Communication, and Policy & Internet, among others. Her work has also been featured by global media outlets, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, the Financial Times, and Reuters. Samantha's research is policy-oriented and public facing. She has published more than 15 policy papers for think tanks and civil society organizations, has participated on expert-panels at over 30 different venues around the world, including international organizations such as UNESCO and NATO, and has been involved in public policy discussions in the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, and the United States, briefing staff and providing expert-witness testimony to several ongoing political processes.
