Sabina Mihelj is Professor of Media and Cultural Analysis at the Centre for Research in Communication and Culture at Loughborough University. Her research is focused on the interaction between media, politics, and culture, especially in the context of semi-democratic, authoritarian, and post-authoritarian countries. Her recent research investigates the role of media in the rise of illiberalism and the contemporary �culture wars�, the impact of right-wing populism on crisis communication during COVID-19, and she is currently developing a new project examining the reception of disinformation across different socio-cultural and linguistic environments.
