Ruben Enikolopov is an ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), and Researcher at Barcelona Institute for Political Economy and Governance (IPEG). He is also a Research Fellow for the Centre for Economic Policy Research and a Research Affiliate at the International Growth Centre. His research mainly focusses on empirical analysis related to Political Economy and Economics of Mass Media, with special focus on political effects of social media. His recent works he studied the effect of social media on political protests, exposure of corruption, xenophobia and hate crimes. Ruben Enikolopov won the first prize in The Medals Competition for Research in Development, awarded by Global Development Network for academic excellence and potential for policy uptake. He has published various papers in the best academic journals including Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies, Econometrica etc. His editorial positions include Co-Editor of the Journal of Comparative Economics, Editorial Board of the Review of Economic Studies and Journal of European Economic Association.
