Philip Effiom Ephraim holds a Ph.D. in Communications and Media Management from Girne American University, Cyprus, an MA in Media and Communication Studies and a BA in English and Literary Studies both from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. In addition, he holds several other qualifications and certifications in various areas of the humanities and the social sciences from leading global universities. He holds a UK teaching qualification in higher education (FHEA). He is internationally experienced, teaching at universities in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Currently, Philip is an Associate Professor of Communications and Digital Media Studies at Wigwe University, Nigeria where he leads courses and functions as the Coordinator of the College of Arts. Dr Ephraim has professional experience. He has worked in various communication and media roles with leading international and national NGOs. As an academic, his goal is to build the next generation of fearless communication and media professionals who are sound in theory, practical, and cultural knowledge. His research area is at the intersection of digital media, culture, and society; the adoption, impacts, and ethics of new technologies including social media and AI in journalism, culture, politics, and organizations.
