Dr Joan Tirwyn Hassan is an Assistant Professor at Kaduna State University, Kaduna State, Nigeria and an Adjunct Faculty with Baze University, Abuja. She holds a doctorate in Communication, Media and Development and a Master of Arts in Communication, Media and Culture fromAnglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, United Kingdom. Her first degree was in Mass Communication from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. She was Head of Department of Mass Communication and Deputy Director of Academic Planning, at Kaduna State University. She teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate levels with research interest in Communication and Development, Political Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Research Methods, New Media and Information Disorder.
