Claudia Labarca is Associate Professor at School of Communication, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Ph.D. in International Relations, Durham University (2012); Master in Corporate Communications, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (2000). Journalism, Pontificia Universidad Católica (1996). She is appointed Academic Secretary for the School of Communications and the Institute for Applied Ethics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She teaches at the Ph.D., master, and undergraduate levels. Dr. Labarca is an active member of the International Communication Association (elected as Liaison Officer 2022-2024, PR Division), the Latin American network of researchers in Organizational Communication, Redlaco (Board Member since 2020), and Latin American Communication Monitor (Chilean representative from 2022 to present). Her research focuses on organizational and institutional trust from a local and a global perspective and the role of media and social media. She has published several journal articles, book chapters, and a book. She is working on four research projects, being PI in two. She actively participates in conferences such as ICA, AEJMC, and IAMCR, as well as in regional and local conferences.
