Dr Christine Darve has worked as an Engineering Scientist at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in the United States before joining the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Sweden in 2011. Beyond Particle Accelerator design and operation, she has established several outreach and educational initiatives, e.g. co-founder of the African School of Physics and Applications (ASP), the Nordic Particle Accelerator Project (NPAP) and MOOCs to promote science. She is also member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) WG14 (Accelerator). She has been awarded APS Fellow 2016 �For sustained contribution to specification, design, construction, and operation of critical components of superconducting linear accelerators, and for leadership in expanding the reach of physics and educational outreach and dissemination of knowledge generated through large scale science facilities around the world.�
