Andra Siibak is a Professor of Media Studies, and a Deputy Head of Research and Development at the Institute of Social Studies, University of Tartu. Her academic research focuses on opportunities and risks surrounding internet and digital technologies use, cyber risks and harms (e.g. surveillance, privacy issues, social engineering, misinformation), and topics focusing on digital childhoods and parenting in the era of datafication, platformisation and AI. She has published more than 100 peer reviewed papers in international journals and edited collections on the abovementioned topics. Together with Giovanna Mascheroni she co-authored a monograph �Datafied Childhoods: Data Practices and Imaginaries in Children�s Lives� (2021), published by Peter Lang.Prof. Siibak is a long�-term member of the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) and an Executive Board member of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), and has received numerous awards for her scholarship, including the Young Scientist Award by the President of Estonia (2015), the Outstanding Young Person of Estonia award (2017), Female Academic of the Year award (2021), and University of Tartu Badge of Distinction (2021). She is the founding member of the Estonian Young Academy of Sciences and a member of the Film, Media, and Visual Studies section at the Academy of Europe (Academia Europaea).
