Dr. Alejandro Martin del Campo leads Digital Humanities initiative at Tec de Monterrey. He holds a Phd. in Humanistic Studies, a Ms in Political Analysis and Media and a MBA. As an academic, his lines of research are in political and social communication with the intersection of emerging technologies. For citizen engagement he participated in Mexico Participa Platform with UC Berkeley. He also researches with Citris Lab how computational propaganda, disinformation and harassment spreads and deceives Women Reproductive Rights and immigration debate using bots in Twitter. Recently he research social movements and political conversation in Youtube correlating #Ayotzinapa and #BlackLivesMatter. His study regarding crossing the Darien withTikTok: Self-Representation and Digital Solidarities in Forced Migrants From Venezuela in Transit to the US, is about to be publish. He leads the Digital Media Observatory that aims to understand how disinformation operations work in the Mexican digital landscape and promote Media and Information Literacy skills, and coordinates Digital Humanities Seminar discussing emerging topics with graduated students and researchers.
