As the Head of Planning and Partnerships at the IPIE, Alex manages the IPIE’s collaborative agreements with its funding and program partners and helps coordinate the IPIE’s policy engagements with multilateral, government, and industry stakeholders.

Prior to joining the IPIE, Alex was the Manager of Programs & Operational Excellence at PeaceTech Lab, an organization that worked to reduce violent conflict using technology, media, and data. At the Lab, Alex oversaw program effectiveness and managed its countering hate speech programs.

Alex's career has focused on work related to mitigating violent conflict in East and West Africa. He has held positions with international research institutions and humanitarian aid organizations, the U.S. Government’s national security community, and local NGOs in Kenya. Alex studied international relations and Swahili at American University in Washington D.C.
