Head of Planning and Partnerships

Alex is the Head of Planning and Partnerships at the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE), where he manages the IPIE’s collaborative agreements with its funding and program partners and helps coordinate the IPIE’s policy engagements with multilateral and government entities.

Prior to joining the IPIE, Alex was the Manager of Programs & Operational Excellence at PeaceTech Lab, an organization that worked to reduce violent conflict by equipping local peacemakers with technology, media, and data tools. At the Lab, Alex oversaw program effectiveness and managed its countering hate speech programs.

Alex has held positions with international research institutions and humanitarian aid organizations, the U.S. Government’s national security community, and local NGOs in East Africa.

Alex is a graduate of American University in Washington D.C., where he studied international relations and Swahili.
