Of relevance to this form is my research on Russian media landscape and Russian state propaganda and disinformation. I have co-led two major AHRC funded projects on (1) the coverage of inter-ethnic relations on Russian state television (2010-2014); and (2) on the projection of Russia by RT (2017-2020). With my colleague, Prof. Stephen Hutchings, from Oct. 2023, I am starting a new AHRC-funded project on the history of discourses and practices of disinformation from the Cold War to the present within seven linguacultural contexts (Russian, Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish and Serbian), with an additional, more limited work, on the Chinese context.
