The Brazilian National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy

Nina Santos is a researcher at the Brazilian National Institute of Science & Technology for Digital Democracy (INCT.DD) and at the Centre d'Analyse et de Recherche Interdisciplinaires sur les Médias (Université Panthéon-Assas). She is also the coordinator of *desinformante and the director of Aláfia Lab. She was a visiting fellow at the Center for Advanced Internet Research (CAIS – Germany, 2020) and at the group Social Movements in the Global Age at Université de Louvain-la-Neuve (SMAG - Belgium, 2018). Nina holds a PhD in Communication and Information Sciences from Université Panthéon-Assas and her thesis was awarded with the Prix de thèse de l'Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas and nominated for the Prix de la Chancellerie des Universités de Paris. She is the author of "Social media logics: Visibility and mediation in the 2013 Brazilian protests" (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022).
