Nicole Stremlau is Head of the Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy and Associate Professor at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. She is also Research Professor in the School of Communications at the University of Johannesburg. Stremlau’s research focuses on media and governance, particularly in areas of conflict and insecurity in Africa.  She currently leads the European Research Council project ConflictNet, the Politics and Practice of Social Media in Conflict.
