Adolfo Ibañez University

Luis E. Santana is an Assistant Professor at the School of Communications & Journalism and director of the Fostering Digital Citizenship program at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez in Santiago-Chile. He is also a research associate at the GobLab at the same institution; Santana holds a PhD in Communication, and a Master of Public Administration, both from University of Washington-Seattle. He has a degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Organizational Psychology from Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Currently he is focused on the sociability aspects and norms of digital citizenship. Dr Santana is, since 2021, member of the advisory council for The Office of the Ombudsman for Children in Chile; Previously, he has been the Programs Director at Fundación Democracia y Desarrollo (Chile), An action-research oriented foundation that promotes civic engagement and political participation through the use of digital technologies; as a grad student Santana worked as consultant associate for the Greenpeace Youth Support Center, advising yputh projects in Chile, Mexico, South Africa and Switzerland.
