Dr. Larissa Doroshenko is a political communications scholar whose computational research examines the use of new media for state-sponsored disinformation campaigns, particularly by Russia, and seeks ways to mitigate its influence through platform moderation and grassroots activism. She is a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies and an Affiliated Faculty at the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University. Dr. Doroshenko has been studying political campaigning and citizens' online engagement in Ukraine since 2014 with grant support from the Open Society Foundation.Dr. Doroshenko's research appears in top-tier academic journals, such as Information, Communication & Society, International Journal of Communication, New Media & Society, International Journal of Press/Politics, Journal of Communication, Journal of Information Technology & Politics, and Social Media + Society, among others.
