Dr. Solis tracks PRC investments and  public diplomacy in the Asia-Pacific and South/Central Asia and has led work on Kremlin influence and media resilience in Europe and Eurasia with USAID, including designing a media resilience index to quantify a country’s vulnerability to foreign malign influence. His research focuses on democratization, media freedom, and research methodology. He has also published peer-reviewed academic work in Political Communication, British Journal of Political Science, and International Interactions, among others.
