Gopolang Ditlhokwa is a lecturer in the Department of Media Studies, University of Botswana, and a PhD candidate in Communication Studies at the Institute of Communication Studies, Communication University of China. With a research focus on platform dependencies and creative industries, Gopolang explores the intersections of technology, media, and communication in the digital era. He has published research on Big Tech, constructive journalism, and health communication and has presented workshops on misinformation, disinformation, fake news, and data journalism at high-level engagements, including invitations from UNESCO and other prominent organisations such as the Botswana Communication Regulatory Authority (BOCRA). In the classroom, Gopolang teaches courses in communication, broadcasting, and digital media, equipping students with critical perspectives on media practices and their societal implications. With a growing interest in the ways that misinformation and platform algorithms shape public discourse, Gopolang seeks to contribute to policy-relevant research that can inform global discussions on these issues, making him an ideal candidate for affiliation with the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE).
