Dr. García Canseco is a researcher in the field of electrical engineering and computer sciences. She was born in Oaxaca, Mexico. She received the B.Sc. degree (with honors) in electronic engineering from the Technological Institute of Oaxaca, Mexico, the M.Sc. degree (with honors) from the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada (CICESE), and the Docteur Ingenieur degree from Université de Paris Sud-11, Orsay, France in 2006. She held postdoctoral positions at Laboratoire des Signaux et Systemes (Gif-sur-Yvette, France), at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. As of the 1st of August 2011, she is at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Baja California, Campus Ensenada. She is a Member (Level 1) of the National System of Researchers of the National Mexican Science Council (CONAHCYT). She is the founding member and state delegate of the Mexican Olympiad in Informatics in Baja California (OMIBC), where she carries out diverse scientific outreach activities. In 2018, she was distinguished as GHC Faculty Scholar 2018 by the Anita Borg Institute for Women in Technology, and with the Premio Municipal de la Mujer 2019 bestowed by the Government of Ensenada.
