Press Release - Dame Inga Beale Appointed as IPIE Trustee

January 15, 2025 – Zürich, Switzerland – The International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dame Inga Beale to its Foundation Board. This appointment brings exceptional expertise and global perspective to the IPIE's mission of addressing critical challenges in today’s information environment.

Dame Inga Beale

A trailblazing business leader, Dame Inga Beale brings over 40 years of experience in financial services, including her tenure as the first female CEO of Lloyd’s of London. Throughout her career, Dame Inga has championed corporate governance, diversity, and inclusion, which align closely with the IPIE's goals of fostering transparency and trust in the global information environment.  

She currently holds multiple board roles, including Chair of South Pole, a global sustainability consultancy, and non-executive directorships at leading companies such as Crawford & Company and NN Group. Dame Inga was awarded her damehood in 2017 in recognition of her contribution to the UK economy.

On her appointment, Dame Inga remarked:

I am deeply honoured to join the IPIE Board at this pivotal moment. Addressing the challenges posed by misinformation and ensuring data integrity are essential for our societies. I look forward to contributing to IPIE’s vital work in creating a more trustworthy information landscape.
