Member, Scientific Panel on Information Integrity about Climate Science
Gizem Ceylan is a behavioral scientist working at the Yale School of Management as well as at the Yale Center for Customer Insights. She completed her Ph.D. in Consumer Behavior at the University of Southern California. She also holds a master’s degree in psychology from New York University.
Ceylan’s research is at the intersection of society and markets. In one stream, she focuses on understanding why people are vulnerable to misinformation and strategies that can mitigate it. In another stream, she is researching behavior change interventions in climate change and sustainable consumption. Her research was published in premier journals such as Proceedings of National Academy of Science, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Consumer Behaviour.
Prior to her doctoral studies, Ceylan worked as a consumer researcher and conducted field research across multiple continents, including Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and North America. Her diverse experiences and extensive academic knowledge enable her to provide unique and effective solutions to misinformation that transcend geographical boundaries.
